Dian Hong is traditionally made from Yunnan’s, which thrive in mountainous environments with abundant mist, strong sunlight, and mineral-rich soils. These conditions contribute to the tea’s natural sweetness, depth, and rounded body. Compared to many black teas from other regions, Dian Hong tends to be fuller, warmer, and less astringent.

Carefully processed, this tea offers aromas of honey, dried fruit, and gentle cocoa. The liquor is smooth and comforting, with a soft sweetness balanced by mild structure. When brewed with attention, it delivers clarity and richness without sharpness, making it both approachable and expressive.

Dian Hong was also the very first gongfu tea I ever encountered when I was twelve years old at the time, and even today I still remember its bold, expansive aroma. That early experience left a lasting impression on me.

As an entry-level black tea, Dian Hong is honest, expressive, and deeply approachable — a tea I always feel confident recommending.
