Shizuoka ceremony Matcha 30g
This ceremonial grade matcha comes from Tenryu Mountain in Shizuoka, Japan, one of the country’s most respected tea regions. Produced from the Saemidori cultivar, the tea plants are shaded for 20–25 days before harvest, allowing the leaves to develop deeper umami, vibrant color, and a smoother texture. The careful shading process increases chlorophyll and amino acid content, giving the tea its vivid green color and naturally rich taste.
The fresh leaves are steamed, dried, and slowly ground with a traditional granite stone mill into an ultra-fine powder. This slow stone milling preserves the delicate aroma and smooth mouthfeel that define high quality ceremonial matcha.
In the cup, the matcha shows a soft creamy aroma with noticeable milky notes, balanced by gentle fresh grass tones. The texture is smooth and rounded, producing a pleasant cup without sharp bitterness. Its natural creaminess makes it especially suitable for matcha lattes, while also performing beautifully as a lighter traditional preparation.
Shizuoka is the largest tea-producing region in Japan, known for its mineral-rich volcanic soil and mountainous climate. These natural conditions allow tea plants to develop deeper flavor and aromatic clarity, producing matcha that is both comforting and refined.
