Qi Lan | Oolong Tea

Qi Lan is a classic Minnan-style(South of Fujian) oolong, once held in the same regard as Tieguanyin. It represents a quieter, more restrained side of aromatic oolong—clean, floral, and composed, without heaviness or roast.

The dry leaves are tightly twisted and dark, carrying a gentle floral aroma with hints of orchid and fresh greens. The fragrance feels natural and lifted, closer in spirit to lightly roasted Taiwanese oolongs than to the mineral-driven styles of Wuyi.

The flavor stays clean and focused throughout. There’s no sharpness, no excess roast, and no aggressive bitterness—just a calm balance between fragrance and structure. The finish is fresh and gently lingering, leaving the mouth clear and comfortable.

Tieguanyin has been heavily shaped—and often distorted—by commercialization in China today. We chose Qi Lan because it remains one of the teas closest to the original character of traditional Tieguanyin, yet has largely avoided that kind of commercial alteration.
