Heritage Wuyi offers a glimpse into an older tradition of Taiwanese tea. Made from a rare Wuyi cultivar preserved in Taiwan, it traces its roots to tea plants brought from northern Fujian generations ago. Grown in Beishan, Nantou County, this tea brings that heritage into a distinctly Taiwanese setting, combining the depth of a darker oolong with fruit, honey, and a subtle mineral character.

The leaves come from a mountain garden at an elevation of 1,100 metres. Harvested in October 2024 and baked in June 2025, this batch undergoes several stages of oven baking. Its Hong Shui style gives the tea a rounded, substantial presence, with layers that unfold gradually over successive infusions.

The liquor is a deep reddish-brown, carrying aromas of cooked stone fruit, warm spices, and roasted nuts, with a delicate undertone of fresh tobacco leaf. A gentle wild-honey sweetness weaves through the cup, balancing the fruit’s lively tang and the tea’s mineral edge. The texture is smooth yet brisk, with a pleasantly dry finish that keeps its richness refreshing.

A subtle mixiang, or honey-aroma character, adds another dimension to this tea. The producer attributes this sweetness to leafhopper activity on the growing leaves. Together with its layered roast and distinctive cultivar, it makes for an expressive oolong that rewards slow drinking and repeated brewing.
